What
is Reiki
Reiki
is a Japanese modality. The word itself is actually two words.
Rei - "Higher Power" and Ki - "Life Force
Energy".
Reiki
is non-invasive, gentle, relaxing and subtle energy. It enhance
the body's own natural healing ability.
In
a Reiki treatment the practitioner channels universal or life force energy to the client via their hands. The hands are held
lightly on or just above various
parts of the body.
Reiki
is traditionally applied to 7 different locations around the
client's head - eyes, temples, ears, back of the head, top of the
head, throat, and shoulders.
The
7 main chakras work exceptionally well with Reiki too - base,
sacral, navel, heart, throat, third eye,
and crown chakras.
Other
locations that have great benefit are the heart, solar plexus,
abdomen, hips, thighs, knees and feet. Reiki is not contraindicated for use with any other treatment or any condition.
Reiki can work safely and effectively as a complimentary modality to any other natural or allopathic modality.
The initial session is an hour. This allows time for Miriam to cover your basic health history with you.
Other energetic modalities seem to have a synergistic impact when used together with Reiki.
Applying Reiki to - meridian points and, or reflexology points - has great effect.
Crystals and colours also combine well with Reiki.
When Miriam performs Reiki, you may feel some gentle heat radiating from her hands.
Please wear comfortable clothing for your session. It is not unusual to fall asleep when receiving Reiki.
The number of sessions you have is completely up to you. Everyone is different in how they respond.
